Parochial Church Council
The Parochial Church Council (PCC) is a corporate body and a charity. The PCC has responsibility, inter alia, for the care, maintenance and insurance of the Church and usually the churchyard, although in the case of St. Andrew’s, this latter responsibility has been assumed by the HDC.
The PCC is responsible for the financial affairs of the Parish, appointing a Treasurer who makes regular reports on the financial position at PCC meetings and keeps proper accounting records which are presented and approved by the PCC at the APCM. On a broader note, the PCC consults together on matters of general concern and importance in the Parish and, in cooperation with the incumbent, promotes in the Parish the whole mission of the Church.
Our current PCC has ten members. The incumbent, Paula, is in the Chair and officers include the Church Warden, Treasurer, Secretary, Deanery Synod Representative and Electoral Roll Officer. There is also a Safeguarding Officer affiliated to the PCC. All PCC members are volunteers and can resign as and when they wish. There are usually four PCC meetings a year plus the APCM at which all persons on the Electoral Roll of the Parish are invited to attend. Minutes of all meetings are taken and approved at the following meeting.
