Gartree Prison Appeal
Many of you will already know that the MoJ are appealing against the HDC decision to refuse the building of a new prison at Gartree. We are currently looking at options available to us to be involved in the appeal process and to continue to oppose this development.

New prison at Gartree refused!
New Prison at Gartree refused!
Yesterday evening, at the HDC planning committee, the MoJ application to build a massive new prison at Gartree was refused unanimously by councillors despite planning officers recommending approval.Thanks to the Gartree Action Group and all who helped to achieve this outcome. A triumph of local democracy.

Gartree Action - join the protest!
The new prison planning application will be decided by HDC planning committee Tues 5th April.
Join lots of other local people in a peaceful protest to let councillors know that we don't want this massive new development. We need as many supporters as possible.

Gartree 'Super Prison' to be decided Tues April 5th
This planning application goes to the planning committee at HDC next Tuesday 5th April. The Parish Council and Gartree Action are working hard to try to get this planning application refused.We have our planning consultant and a number of other speakers lined up to speak at the meeting. Deadline for commenting on building of new SuperPrison at Gartree
There are only 10 days left to comment on this planning application. You may be aware that the Ministry of Justice is applying to build a huge, new prison, three times the size of Gartree prison, next to the current prison. Expansion of Gartree Prison
As well as the building of a new prison, there is a proposal to expand Gartree Prison. The attached document will tell you more.
The Parish Council is particularly concerned about the effect of increased traffic through the village. There will be no new roads built to help reroute this traffic.
